The following is an excerpt from my recent book, Ascension: Embracing the Transformation. It addresses an aspect of the Ascension process many of us seem to be experiencing recently and can be rather discouraging—something I call Ascension “Clean-Out”.
One Challenge after Another
In reflecting on my own experience and observing others I know, I see that we are all going through periods of what I can only call “Ascension Clean-Out”. Sometimes these periods last weeks, months—maybe even years for some—in which we meet one challenge after another and need to constantly focus on releasing old patterns, beliefs and emotions.
In a way, these periods of clean-out are no different from what any of us has experienced in the past; there have always been times in life when we’ve gone through difficult passages. And if we’re fortunate, we’ve learned deep lessons from them and come out the other end wiser—although, at times, also more vulnerable and wounded.
But these times of clearing during the last few years of our lives since 2012 have been different in certain ways: they tend to be more intense and to pull up disturbing issues that have plagued us our entire lives. At times it can feel as if we’re in a pressure cooker with energy continuing to build until we feel we might explode.
Also, there often isn’t much time to fully gather our strength and inner resources after a period of clean-out before another wave hits us. Sometimes the releasing process can feel endless.
With this kind of intensity, there are times when we have to depend more than ever on all the inner strength we have access to, to simply make it through a day. If we’re lucky, we also have outer resources—friends, family, therapists, healers—who can assist us in the process of dealing with the issues coming up. But many are handling the clean-out process pretty much alone.
Understanding the Ascension “Clean-Out” Process
It’s important to understand that Ascension is not an overnight process. Nor does it just happen to us. There is no outside source or force that will effortlessly clear all the emotional baggage and misunderstandings about the nature of reality we have accumulated during the thousands of years we’ve likely existed in the Third Dimension.
It is true that waking up is somewhat easier to do than it once was, given the high frequency energies that are pouring into the Earth now that we’re in the Fourth Dimension. And we’re also getting help, when we ask for it, from the archangels, ascended masters and galactics that wasn’t as available before.
However, waking up is still something we have do for ourselves, something we have to focus on, something we have to continue to do—until we are eventually clear enough and resonating with the vibration of the Fifth Dimension. And for most of us, this is taking some time. It’s a process.
If you really consider what full awakening to and living your spiritual nature entails, you have to acknowledge that a whole lot has to change. Not only do we need to clear out low-vibration emotions and limited beliefs from this lifetime—but also, for most of us, from many past lives as well. On top of that, our dense physical bodies need to be completely rewired. All of this is huge. And it all can’t be accomplished too quickly, or we’d combust.
Awareness of the Larger Context
What’s fortunate, however, is we can have a great deal more awareness now in meeting these waves of clean-out, more understanding of what they’re about. We can be aware that our old unresolved issues are arising at this time so we may finally release them and move ever more securely into fifth-dimensional consciousness.
This understanding can make these periods of purging somewhat easier to endure. There’s a purpose to them, an almost tangible goal—one that is more palatable and true than those we’ve often worked with in the past, such as having to pay back karma or feeling we are somehow broken and have to be fixed.
I have personally endured very painful clean-out experiences in my past, including years of physical illness and inability to bring in sufficient income. These past three to four years have been no different in certain ways. However, in other ways, they have been very different. I find I can now be aware of a very clear “plan” my Higher Self has for me during this time and the need to clear out old issues that have weighed me down in some cases for lifetimes.
I’ve also been aware of an urgency I’ve never felt before to move through the times of releasing. There’s a subtle sense of a push inside me, a constant (though gentle) nudging to keep moving ever forward through the difficult times.
There is also a constant urging for me to stay awake to what is happening and to learn everything that is being presented to me all along the way. I have developed an on-going awakeness to the inner workings of my psyche—being as watchful as possible of my thoughts and emotions and my responses to outside stimuli.
